Homes in Bee Cave’s Homestead neighborhood sit on large, 1-9 acre lots. The neighborhood first began to be developed in the late 1970s and building still continues today with several lots available for purchase. Homes in The Homestead are as unique as their owners, with everything from a traditional two story home to a Spanish style villa. With such large lots, owners can virtually build any size home they’d like and not overpower their lots, though most choose to stay between 1,700 and 6,000 sq ft.
If you want to build in The Homestead, several lots are still available. All lots are minimum 1 acre, so you will have the privacy and room to put a barn.

The Homestead plans several activities for its residents throughout the year, the two most popular being the Chili Cookoff and Halloween Hayride. Places to Eat Near Homestead
Dining near The Homestead has become a lot easier the past few years with several new restaurants going up. And not just your run of the mill chains, most of them are local businesses with very unique menus. For French food, try Zoot on Bee Cave Road. Their mushroom soup – and pretty much all of their mushroom dishes – are fabulous. For date night, try Emerald built in a small cottage with a warm and inviting atmosphere and great food. Don’t miss their potato soup. Another fun place is the Trading Post Wine Bar and Grill on Highway 71 for high end comfort food. This one is the highest rated restaurant around so its definitely a do not miss.
Shopping Near Homestead
With the development of the Hill Country Galleria, shopping near The Homestead could not be easier. Hill Country has several upscale retailers like Banana Republic, Chico’s, Coldwater Creek and Jos A Bank as well as major department stores like Dillards and Dick’s Sporting Goods. For grocery shopping, try H-E-B at Bee Cave and 71. If you’re looking for a downtown shopping area, try Lakeway, which has a cute downtown district.
Where to Work Out – Gyms Near Homestead
There are a few gyms near The Homestead you may like. The closest gym is Gold’s Gym in the Hill Country Galleria just across 71. The gym is clean, large and has a lot of group fitness classes that residents like. Anytime Fitness on Falconhead Blvd is another resident favorite, especially if you like to work out at all hours of the day and night. It’s probably the cleanest gym around and gets rave reviews from its members. Bodywise Gym just up the road in Lakeway, is a smaller gym with a great atmosphere and the owners and trainers go the extra mile to help you with your workout.
