Circle C
Circle C is probably the most well known Southwest Austin neighborhood on this list. Building started around 1980 and continues today. Every time we think there is no more land to build in Circle C, they seem to find more, which is a testament to how popular Circle C is. The neighborhood has two very well used community centers and is only 20 minutes from Downtown Austin, making it the closest master planned community to Downtown and UT. Houses come in a range of sizes and prices, so if you’re looking for amenities and a suburban feel, check out Circle C.

Built from the 1970’s to the mid 2000’s, Shady Hollow homes sit on larger lots than those in Circle C and still are only about 20 minutes from Downtown. Shady Hollow has two community pools and a very active HOA that plans activities for the community. Shady Hollow is your place if you prefer a more established feel.

Meridian
Located at 1826 and 45, Meridian is the ideal choice for the Southwest Austin home buyer who likes the location of Circle C, but is looking for a little more intimate neighborhood. Many of the homes back to Grey Rock Golf Course or greenbelt, making them more private than your standard home in a master planned neighborhood. Lantana
Located only 8 miles from Downtown, Lantana makes the list because of it’s large lots, green space, mature landscaping and proximity to some of Austin’s premier employers. When the developer built Lantana they did a great job of keeping as many of the mature trees as they could. Even though Lantana homes were built in the last 10 years, you’d think you were in a much more established neighborhood. This allows homeowners to enjoy the best of both worlds – a newer home with a more open floor plan in an established looking neighborhood.
