Its a fun and different thing to do, especially when you have guests in town. If you’re looking for a place to take the kids to run around, try the Dripping Springs Sports and Recreation Park where you’ll find soccer fields, a play ground, basketball court and a picnic area.

Probably the most well known local restaurant is the Salt Lick Barbecue in Driftwood. Not only is their barcecue excellent, their grounds are also beautiful as well. Definitely a place to bring out of town guests. If you’re looking for a place with live music, try the Nutty Brown Cafe. You’ll find several great local bands, and some pretty big names from time to time. Their food is also pretty good. If you’re looking for a “date night” restaurant, try the Creek Road Cafe in Dripping Springs. Just looking to pick up a sandwich or cup of coffee? Head to Rolling in Thyme and Dough in Dripping Springs.
Shopping Near Lanier Ranch
The closest grocery shopping to Lanier Ranch can be found at the new H-E-B in Dripping Springs. Its a new store and they have a huge selection. Coming from Austin? Try the H-E-B in Oak Hill or the H-E-B in Escarpment Village. The Escarpment Village store is also a brand new store with many Central Market products. If you’re looking for clothes and mall shopping, you can try the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave or the shops in Sunset Valley. Both places have plenty of choices.
