For golf, head to Kyle or Wimberley. Plum Creek Golf Club in Kyle is one of the more popular area courses and is considered one of the best courses for the price. Wimberley’s Quicksand at Woodcreek Golf Course is another option. Both are affordably priced and challenging courses. For something a bit more upscale, try the Grey Rock Golf Course in Southwest Austin off Highway 45. Grey Rock is a pay as you play course with membership options for more frequent players.
Places to Eat Near Rolling Oaks
There are several restaurants within about 5-10 miles from Rolling Oaks. Here are a few that are resident favorites. Trattoria Lisina is one of the best restaurants as far as ambiance is concerned and many like to take their out of town guests here. It serves Italian food and is very good. For barbecue, there is no better choice than Salt Lick in Driftwood. Not only is the food great, its BYOB and the grounds are beautiful. Its also a great place for a wedding or a large event. For one of the best French restaurants, check out Bordeaux’s in Kyle. Their escargot is fabulous. For breakfast, head less than a mile from Rolling Oaks to Hays City Cafe. Make sure to try their brisket burritos.
Shopping Near Rolling Oaks
For grocery shopping, Kyle is your best bet. The H-E-B is just about 8 miles from Rolling Oaks and has a great selection. For Walmart, head to Buda and for Target, head to Kyle. For clothing, there is a Kohl’s in Kyle. For an outlet mall, head to San Marcos where you’ll find hundreds of stores.
Where to Work Out – Gyms Near Rolling Oaks
If you spend much of your time in Kyle, you’d probably join the Anytime Fitness there. If you spend more time going towards Wimberley, you’ll have your choice of the Curves, Anytime Fitness, Wimberley Athletic Club or the Wimberley Fitness Company. Wimberley and Kyle are each about 7-8 miles from Rolling Oaks.
