The majority of the homes in Dripping Springs’ Sunset Canyon neighborhood were built from the late 1990s to the late 2000s, with a few being built in the 1980s. As there is no mandatory HOA, the restrictions are a bit lax compared to other nearby neighborhoods and owners have the ability to make their homes as unique as they are. Sitting on large lots, Sunset Canyon home owners enjoy privacy and have some space between them and their neighbor. And, if you have horses, some of the lots allow horses.

Being halfway between Austin and Downtown Dripping Springs, you really have your pick of several restaurants. Some local favorites tend to be Rolling Thyme and Dough in Dripping Springs. They serve sandwiches on fresh baked bread that is delicious. If you’re looking for something a bit more fancy, try the Creek Road Cafe in Dripping Springs where you’ll find a great atmosphere and great food. Looking for comfort food? Try Cafe 131, also in Dripping Springs.
Shopping Near Sunset Canyon
Now that the new H-E-B in Dripping Springs is open, grocery shopping for Sunset Canyon residents is much more convenient. H-E-B is about 6 miles west on 290, which is a 5 minute car ride. You can also pick up some home improvements at Home Depot, which is right next door to H-E-B. If you’re looking for a Walmart, try the one in Sunset Valley off 290. Sunset Valley is also where you’ll find a Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowe’s, Ulta, Marshalls, Ross, Nordstrom Rack and virtually all of your other big box retailers.
Where to Work Out – Gyms Near Sunset Canyon
For a country club type gym (without the golf), try the Polo Tennis and Fitness Club just outside the neighborhood. There they have a gym, swimming pool, polo and tennis facilities. If you’re just looking for a social membership, they have that too! For just a traditional gym, try Boudreaux Power House right near the entrance to Sunset Canyon. For more choices, head into Dripping Springs where you’ll find a YMCA and The Dripping Springs Fitness Center.
