Built primarily in the 1970s and 1980s, Oakcrest Estates is one of Georgetown’s more established neighborhoods. The majority of the homes are between 1,300-2,200 sqft, but we have seen some as large as 3,800 sq ft. Lots are fairly large for homes this size, typically between 1/3-1/2 acre, so there’s definitely plenty of room for a large home and a good sized yard. And, with no HOA, residents have the flexibility to use their lots to their needs versus trying to fit in with the HOA’s draconian rules. You’ll see shops and pools, RV parking and work trucks and you’ll have the flexibility to add your own touch to your home. But, as with most neighborhoods without HOA’s, you’ll also see the homes and yards that aren’t as well kept. So, it definitely can be a double edge sword. Though there are no amenities, the neighborhood does back to the San Gabriel River and you can access that trail system. You’ll also enjoy mature trees and a convenient location not too far from downtown Georgetown and 35. If you’re looking for an established neighborhood where you have the freedom to make your home your own, Oakcrest Estates might be a good place to start your search.
