River Bend is an established community off of Williams Drive in Georgetown. Gabriel View Drive, located along the San Gabriel River, was the first section to be developed in the mid 1970s and 1980s. Construction then continued northeast, closer to Williams Drive in the 1990s. Finally, the last sections were built in the mid 1990s to early 2000s and that front section is age restricted to 55+ home owners. River Bend is unique in that it is a partially age restricted community, but does not have an HOA, giving residents who aren’t looking for the expense of a community with HOA provided amenities like Sun City but still want to live around people in their same stage of life. The first section of River Bend does have some San Gabriel River waterfront houses, offering something unique for Georgetown. To that point, you very rarely see a waterfront home in River Bend listed for sale, so if you see one and that’s what you’re looking for, you better act fast. Residents who choose the non-age restricted section are drawn to the large, 1/3-1/2 acre wooded lots, unique homes that don’t feel cookie cutter and convenient location. The age restricted section does feature smaller lots of about 1/5 of an acre, limiting the amount of yard that has to be maintained. River Bend is a great choice for someone looking for a solid, non-HOA neighborhood in the heart of Georgetown.Whether you’re searching for your dream home or considering a retirement-friendly community, River Bend offers something for everyone.
