Expected to open and be fully functional in Summer 2019, the Army is starting to make offers of employment and move candidates to Austin. The local music scene can make certain buildings a little louder, especially on the weekends, so if you are sensitive to noise, Downtown might not be the best place to start your search. That being said, if you are someone who likes to be in the middle of the action, Downtown Austin would be a great fit.

North Loop really took off when the Robert Mueller Airport closed and the new ABIA airport opened. The neighborhood used to be in the direct flight path, so it was constantly having to deal with airplane noise. Fast forward to now when Robert Mueller Airport is now Mueller and no longer an airport and North Loop is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Central Austin. Many of the homes are within walking distance to the local businesses on North Loop Blvd, which includes coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. North Loop residents also have easy access to 290, Airport Blvd and 35, giving them several options for when traffic is stopped.

The neighborhood is also bordered by Manor Road, which has many local hot spots like Salty Sow, Haymaker and Dai Due if you’re looking for somewhere to go after work.

Homes Near US Army Futures Command in Austin if You’re Looking for New Construction
If you’re looking for new construction and you didn’t find anything in the neighborhoods above, you might need to expand your search to a neighborhood with nothing but new construction. These homes will add a tad to your commute, but you’ll have a brand new home and, in most cases, a yard for kids or pets.

Another popular East Austin neighborhood, Addison is one that has been increasing in popularity as the 183 corridor takes off. Located next to the airport, Addison residents are on the airport power grid, which makes it very unlikely to loose power. For those who were here during the freeze and lost power for days, being on the power grid for the airport would have been reason enough to own a home here. At build out, Addison will have 550 homes, so it won’t be small. There is a community pool with lounge areas, rain gardens, pergolas and an amenity center with restrooms and a kids’ playground.

Of the 1,500 acres, 300 acres will be dedicated parkland for residents to enjoy. Easton Park homes have character, modern floor plans and high end finishes.

Homes Near US Army Futures Command in Austin if You’re Looking for Highly Rated Schools
If you have kids or are considering having kids, schools might be an important consideration for your move. The best schools, closest to US Army Futures Command are found southwest of Downtown Austin. Here are a few neighborhoods to check out.
Circle C

Circle C does have an on-site grocery store as well as several dining options and a movie theater.
