But, because the neighborhood is fairly small, build out is complete, so homeowners don’t have to deal with the inconvenience of living in a construction zone. If you’re looking for affordable golf course living, or a newish home that’s about 20 minutes from Downtown Austin, Meridian might be the place for you.

Spanish Oaks is a newcomer to this list, but one of my favorite additions. A luxury golf course community, Spanish Oaks took a bit of a hit when the golf club filed for bankruptcy a few years ago. Since then, the club has picked itself up and brought a new energy to the neighborhood. Spanish Oaks is one of the few neighborhoods in Austin with a 24/7 guard gate and is a popular choice among luxury home buyers who love to golf.

And, with it’s convenient Central location, a commute is pretty painless in any direction.
