Sonterra is the biggest master planned community in Jarrell and has been named one of the fastest growing subdivisions in the country for several years. And, when you check it out, you’ll see why. With 1,400 acres located east of 35 in Jarrell, just north of Georgetown, Sonterra residents have easy access to 35 and can save thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, compared to closer in suburbs like Round Rock or Georgetown. Homes are geared towards affordability, so you won’t get the high end finish outs and architectural details. But, you will get thoughtful floor plans, ample size yards and solid amenities. Sonterra’s first homes closed in 2006 and building continues today (September 2023). Over the years, builders have included CastleRock Communities, Centex Homes, Century Communities, DR Horton, KB Homes, Lennar, LGI Communities and Starlight Homes. Currently 8,000 residents live in Sonterra and as the area explodes, more lots are being developed and released to builders so more homes can be built. As the area attracts more residents, commercial sites are following and you now have a few restaurants, shopping and some businesses located near Sonterra. Residents enjoy access to a community pool and clubhouse as well as several parks throughout the community.
