Looking for the perfect neighborhood in Leander to plant your roots? Alterra might just be the place you’ve been searching for. This small, welcoming community combines modern architectural charm with kid and dog friendly amenities. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or looking to upgrade your space, this Alterra neighborhood guide will give you everything you need to know about living in Alterra. Built in 2019-2020 by Century Communities, Alterra is a small community off Bagdad Road in Leander made up of one loop. Architecturally, homes have some contrast with a mix of stone, brick, stucco and HardiPlank. Typically you’ll see two of these materials per house, sometimes three. Trees are new, so they aren’t providing much privacy and shade now, but there are at least 1-2 trees per lot, so you will start to get both in a few years. Homes sit on manageable size lots of around 0.12 acres, but the majority of them are two stories, so you do feel like you have a little bit more space between your neighbor. Outside yards are well kept and landscaped with grass and some hardscaping (rocks, brick planters, mulch beds), so you could really get away with one of those old time push mowers. Inside, you’ll find open floor plans, granite or stone counters, stainless steel appliances, large kitchen islands, tile and carpet. The HOA does maintain a community park and kids’ play area and dues are $65/month as of November 2022. If you’re looking for a small community of newer homes in a convenient location off Bagdad Road, Alterra is a great place to start your search. From its thoughtfully designed homes and sense of community to its convenient location and nearby attractions, Alterra has become a favorite among homebuyers.
