We were so impressed by the bread at Odd Duck, we just had to find out where it came from. When we learned it was Moonlight Bakery, just a few blocks from our house, we thought we’d check it out.
Best Pastries
On our first visit, we tried their pastries. We got a few – cinnamon roll, apple fritter, cheese danish and a butter horn. They were fresh from the oven and I must admit I was impressed. The apple fritter was my favorite, though everything else was excellent.
Best Burger Buns
Next, (no not the same day!) we got a few ciabatta rolls for some burgers. They were so good, I will never buy buns from the grocery store again. They are perfectly shaped, not too doughy and not so fat that you can’t fit the burger in your mouth. These rolls will be my go to rolls from now on.
Insider Tip: If you have your heart set on them, its best to call in the morning to make sure they have some left. Sometimes their commercial accounts take all of their rolls. The nice lady that worked there did say you could special order the rolls with a minimum order of 8 for no additional charge.
Best Breads
We’ve also tried their baguette and their full sized ciabatta bread and both were, not surprisingly, scrumptious as well. I must admit I am partial to doughy white breads, but that also means I’ve tried a lot of them and I know a good bread when I taste it.
