Glenlake Homes
Homes in Northwest Austin’s Glenlake neighborhood sit on substantial 2+ acre lots, so many of them are very private. Many of the homes feature panoramic hill country and Lake Austin views. You’ll find several architecturally stunning custom homes, making the neighborhood truly unique. Because each property is so different, it’s hard to make any statements as to the typical home other than to say they are usually well over 4,000 sq ft on 2+ acre lots with stunning views. This uniqueness is a lot of what Glenlake residents like.
Lots are on septic tanks, which eliminates the sewer fee. Though not within Austin City Limits, the neighborhood gets its electricity and some building code enforcement requirements from the City of Austin. Water is provided by LCRA and solid waste services are provided by Waste Management/Longhorn Disposal.

The property tax rate in Northwest Austin’s Glenlake neighborhood is 1.6526% as of the 2023 tax year, down from 1.8502% as of the 2022 tax year. The property tax rate was 1.991% as of the 2021 tax year.

Things to Do in Glenlake
Camp at Emma Long Park. Yes, it may sound weird that I would suggest you camp so close to your home, however, why drive out in the middle of nowhere when you can be at this beautiful camp site in 10 minutes? The kids will love to bring the boat to the lake (Emma Long has 2 boat ramps), play some volleyball at night and sleep under the stars. There are 46 tent sites and 20 are available with water and electricity hook ups.
Take your dog to the off leash park at Emma Long park. Your dog will love the chance to roam free. Take advantage of one of the few off leash dog parks around Austin.
Join a country club. River Place Country Club is a great family club. They have golf, tennis, dining, a fitness center, spa and pool. There is really something for everyone here.
