Austin Bank Owned Properties Sold Down 25%
November 2015 saw a 25% decrease in the number of bank owned homes that sold in year over year figures. In November 2014, there were 8 bank owned homes that sold (closed escrow) compared to 6 in November 2015. Bank owned homes (foreclosures) accounted for 0.9% of the total home sales in Austin in November 2015, compared to 1.1% of the total sales in November 2014. The overall market saw a 7% decrease in the number of homes sold compared to last year’s numbers.
Austin Bank Owned Homes Under Contract Saw No Change
In November 2015, there were 6 bank owned homes that accepted a contract (pending) compared to 6 homes in November 2014 marking no change in year over year numbers. Bank owned homes accounted for 0.7% of the homes that went under contract in November 2015 compared to 0.8% of homes that went under contract in November 2014. The full market saw a 9% increase in the number of homes that went pending compared to last year at this time, showing just how small a percentage the distressed market takes in Austin.
Austin Bank Owned Listed for Sale Down 29%
In November 2014, there were 7 foreclosures (homes owned by the bank) listed for sale compared to 5 in November 2015 showing a 29% decrease in year over year numbers. Bank owned homes listed for sale made up of 0.6% of the full market in November 2015 compared to 0.9% in November 2014. The full market saw a 9% increase in number of new homes listed for sale.
Austin Bank Owned Homes Currently for Sale Down 48%
The number of bank owned homes in Austin currently on the market went from 33 in November 2014, to 17 in November 2015 marking a 48% (16 home) decrease. The number of bank owned homes for sale made up just 0.5% of the market in November 2015 compared to 1.1% in November 2014. The full market saw a 3% increase in the number of homes for sale this time last year.
Bank Owned Homes that Didn’t Sell Saw No Change
In November 2015, banks took 1 home off the market that didn’t sell compared to 0 in November 2014, showing essentially no change in year over year numbers.
What Do Austin Foreclosure Numbers Mean for Buyers?
