3% Increase in Median Sold Price of Austin Luxury Homes
The median sold price of an Austin luxury home in December 2023 was $1,371,000 compared to $1,332,000 in December 2022 showing a 3% increase in year over year numbers. Last month, the median price of a luxury home in Austin was $1,628,259, showing a 16% decrease in month over month comparisons.
2.2% Decrease in Number of Austin Luxury Home Sales
There were 135 Austin luxury homes that sold in December 2023 compared to 138 days in December 2022, showing a 2.22% decrease in year over year comparisons. Last month, there were 140 luxury homes that sold in Austin, showing a 3.7% decrease in month over month comparisons.
47% Increase in Time to Sell an Austin Luxury Home
In December 2023, it took, on average, 91 days to sell an Austin luxury home compared to 48 days in December 2022, showing a 47% increase in year over year comparisons. Last month, the average time to sell an Austin luxury home was 67 days, showing a 26.4% increase in month over month comparisons.

Austin luxury homes ranged in size from 100 sqft – 7,223 sqft with an average size of 3,660 sqft. The average price per square foot for a luxury home that sold in Austin in December 2023 was $557.66 with the lowest being $206.87/sqft and the highest being $10,950/sqft. It took, on average, 91 days to sell a luxury home in Austin and sellers received, on average, 88.44% of their original list prices.
