1.3% Increase in Median Sold Price of Austin Luxury Homes
In December 2024 the median sold price of a luxury home in Austin was $1,385,000 compared to $1,367,000 in December 2023, showing a 1.3% increase in year over year numbers. Last month the median sold price of an Austin luxury home was $1,495,000, showing an 8% decrease in month over month comparisons.
32% Increase in Number of Austin Luxury Home Sales
In December 2024 there were 185 luxury homes that closed escrow in Austin compared to 140 in December 2023, showing a 32% increase in year over year numbers. Last month there were 149 luxury homes that closed escrow showing a 24% increase in month over month comparisons.
8.2% Increase in Time to Sell an Austin Luxury Home
In December 2024 the median time to sell a luxury home in Austin was 61 days compared to 56 days in December 2023 showing an 8.2% increase in year over year numbers. Last month the median time to sell a luxury home in Austin was 64 days, showing a 4.91% decrease in month over month comparisons.

For those of you who prefer to see the actual numbers, we’ve listed the figures for December 2024 Austin area luxury home sales below. The most expensive luxury home that sold in December 2024 sold for $8,160,000 and the least expensive luxury home sold for $1,000,000. Austin luxury homes ranged in size from 1,587 sqft – 9,851 sqft with an average size of 3,680 sqft. The average price per square foot for a luxury home that sold in Austin in December 2024 was $485.78 with the lowest being $227.41/sqft and the highest being $2,173.91/sqft. It took, on average, 84 days to sell a luxury home in Austin and sellers received, on average, 91.01% of their original list prices.
