Last week I told you about the Austin Home and Garden Show. This week (just in time for the better weather after our week of winter) it’s time to explore a little fun for the outdoors. The Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor show comes to the Austin Convention Center this Thursday, January 20th through Sunday, January 23rd. This is the fist year for this event, as it combines the Annual Austin Boat Show with the Annual Central Texas Hunting and Fishing shows.
Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show – Why Go?
Although it’s still a little cold outside, why wait to plan for the sun and fun of summertime in Austin. If your looking to take your Lake Travis or Lake Austin lifestyle up a notch, the Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show will definitely help you get there or at least make your daydreams a little more vivid.
Looking for a New Boat?
Need a new ski or wakeboarding boat for Lake Travis or just something to cruise to the Hula Hut on Lake Austin? The Boat Show will have on display the newest and greatest boats for any activity.
Want to Hone Your Fishing Skills?
Is fishing more your style? There will be free fishing seminars ranging from learning to fly fish to creating your own custom fishing rod.
Whatever Your Outdoor Interests – There’s Something for You
Whether your into kayaking on Town Lake or biking on the Veloway, the Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show will be the place to go this week to get your outdoor fix.

The Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show begins at noon this Thursday, January 20th and runs through the weekend. The show date and times are below:

- Friday, January 21 noon- 9pm
- Saturday, January 22 10am- 9pm
- Sunday, January 23 10am- 6pm
Where?
The Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show will be held at the Austin Convention Center at 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street, 78701.
Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor- How Much?
All tickets for the Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor show can be purchased on-site. The admission costs are:
Admission:
- Adults: $8
- Seniors over 65: $4
- Children 7-12: $4
- Children 6 and under: Free
Need to Take a Boater Education Course?
You can also sign up to be part of the Boater Education class which will be held Saturday 10 am-6 pm. You can attend both the show and the class for $13. All you have to do is call Randi at 210-415-1264 to register for the class.
Austin Boat, Sport and Outdoor Show Parking
There is plenty of parking at the Austin Convention Center and the surrounding parking garages. The garages are located at 2nd Street and Brazos and another at 5th Street and Red River.
